Holy crap. That’s a huge move. It doesn’t seem like that serious of a virus, so they’re probably doing this out of extreme caution with respect to all the unknown factors of this new virus.

Also apparently they are forbidding travel from the city:

This is essentially quarantining a city of 11 million (though people can still go in), during a huge travel time.

That seems extreme, but the reported death toll has tripled since yesterday, and they are now saying human to human transmission is happening, so maybe it is warranted.

It’s definitely severe enough to be worried about. The real question is how readily it spreads between people, which isn’t clear yet.

It seems to be ramping up quicker than it was seeming yesterday. Yeah, definitely worth worrying  about. Yesterday was a handful of deaths of susceptible demographics from what I heard. But it's gone up a bunch since.
